First, I would like to thank Vicki from                                   http://vicki-2bagsfull.blogspot.com/ for hosting this, genuinely caring about others, blog party. Thank you, Vicki!

Hi! I’m Terry!

me

I am happily married to Gary for 31 years. We are the proud parents of Meredith, Rick, Shannon and Tracy. They are 24 years old. Yep, all four of them. They are quadruplets.

I am a special education teacher in an elementary school for grades 3, 4 and 5. I love my job! Today is a snow day, blessing me with the opportunity to prepare the blog party! Yay! Snow days are a wonderful perk! Smile

I am an avid knitter, crocheter and needle felter. I love making gifts for my family and friends.

This is a pillow I made for my sister.

This pillow was for http://www.peacefelt.org/. A wonderful project hosted by www.livingfelt.com  to  promote peace in our world. Peace

These pillows were a joint project with my sister-in-law Doreen. She crocheted the squares, I put the them together and made the pillows, then we sent them to our niece for her birthday. Doreen is the angel in my life that taught me how to knit and crochet. Red heart

I am the founder of The Lemonade Blanket Project.  I collect handmade blankets to be sent to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. The wonderful people there distribute the blankets to children who have cancer, are presently in treatment for cancer, or who are cancer survivors. The mission of the Lemonade Blanket Project is to let the children know that we all care about them.

I started to blog, about 2 years ago, because everyone told me that I should write a book about raising my quadruplets.  I chose to start a blog and called it The Dorm: Now and Then.  However, I found myself blogging about many other things besides my kids. So, I started this blog, Sharing Divine Inspiration, which includes all the blessings in my life.  I write about my family, my hobbies, my faith.

I start each day at  5:00 a.m. I come down the stairs, put on a load of laundry, make a cup of coffee and sit down to spend time with God. I always have my first cup of coffee of the day with God. During this time I listen to Divine Guidance, Wisdom and Inspiration. I choose to live my life following that Guidance, Wisdom and Inspiration, and here, on this blog, Sharing Divine Inspiration, I choose to share it with you. Red heart

I want to share this with someone too!

I made this just for Vicki’s Grow Your Blog Party! I knit felted the blue background, then needle felted the design. It can stand on a table, or you can hang it on a wall. There is wire on the back for hanging. I will randomly select a winner from those who comment on this post. Just leave a comment to be entered. Be sure to provide your email address so I can contact you for your mailing address when you win.

I look forward to meeting you all at Vickie’ Grow Your Blog Party!!!

With Love,                                                                                      Terry Coffee cup

  7. I can understand why you are a special ed teacher. It takes someone special to teach special ed and it obviously takes someone special to raise quads. You obviously made it through.

I will have to come back for project ideas.

  15. Dear Terry

I just spent the most wonderful few minutes reading the story of you and your siblings - and the memory book they made for you of your mother. That was the most beautiful action of love and caring that I have heard in a very long time.

I couldn't help being drawn to this story but for different reasons than you might suspect. I am 65 years old and for 5 of the last 6 years I was the in home caregiver for my mom who is now 86. I, too, have a story of my mom - the one where she began to fail due to age and could no longer take care of herself. I chronicled that story on my blog - the series of posts are called "Through my Caregiver Eyes."

Our stories are dissimilar in that your mother's memories are frozen in time when she was vibrant and full of life. Those memories can never be taken from you or your siblings. I have similar memories of my mom, but they are colored by so many age related losses that make me so sad at times. But universally our moms are very important to us. I am blessed and lucky to still have her in my life. You are lucky to have such a caring family that she created who held onto their memories of her. And so she continues to "live on" in your family as a fully functioning adult.

I plan to return as a follower to your blog - to hear more about this wonderful family - 4 kids!!! at the same time!!!! egads!!!! :-) Sounds like a great adventure to me. You should write it all down. Your kids will treasure it once you are gone, just as you treasure your families memories of your mom.

Include me in your contest, please. And come spend some of your busy time at my blog home. I hope you will stay.

  16. Hi Terri! I hope I'm not too late to comment on your post and be entered in your give-away. I love your handiwork--I don't knit or felt or crochet myself--and would be blessed to win your felted picture.

  17. My goodness...quadruplets? What a great blog. I recently bought a needle felting kit, and can't wait to dig in. Not sure what to do with it yet, but will check it out sometime soon. I like to knit, too. I will check out the Lemonade Blanket Project. I belong to the KnitWitz, a small group that meets weekly. We are always looking for new projects. We have just completed a blanket for a friend who is returning from the Mayo Clinic. We have also contributed to the Scarf Project for Special Olympics, and lap quilts for the local nursing home. Having fun at the Blog Party.
